[Thom's been tossing, turning - feverish, almost, but with no fever.]
[she knows what he is like with a fever]
[sighing faintly, she climbs onto the bed and crawls over to him, placing a hand on his chest to stop him from thrasing around. The slender girl watches him for a long moment and then, lifting her hand up to brush the hair away from his face, she begins to softly sing]
Wherein the deep night sky
The stars lie in its embrace
The courtyard still in its sleep
And peace comes over your face.
"Come to me," it sings
"Hear the pulse of the land
The ocean's rhythms pull
To hold your heart in its hand."
And when the wind draws strong
Across the cypress trees
The nightbirds cease their songs
So gathers memories.

Fragile.
After a moment, he stirs again, but slowly, and he opens his eyes.

Thank you."

I haven't had any dreams.

"Of course not."

So...thank you, really. I'd kiss you, but I think that that would be a little too traumatic for you.

And, uncharacteristically, raises one arm to brush his fingertips lightly against her cheek.* Don't, Dell. I've just got back on my feet, after all . . .
*sweetly* Will you miss me when I've gone?

[then she shrugs at his question, sitting up and tucking some of her hair behind one hair]
Yes, most likely. I get too used to sharing my bed, really.

*And, just for an instant . . . it almost sounds as if he means it.
Thom sits up as well, his spine popping so that he pauses, perturbed. But it's nothing to worry about; he turns again to Delia, looking as if he doesn't quite know what to say.*

Do you want something to eat?

*Thom grins, extending his elbow to her.* Shall we?

[as they walk out the door, she pulls it shut behind her. And locks it]
